If children disappeared from the world, so would wonder.
There would be no tiny hands reaching for tomorrow, no inquisitive minds asking numerous questions; anxiously waiting for someone to believe in them. Every child carries a future yet unseen, and every opportunity we place before them influences not only their lives but the generations that will follow.
That is why we prioritize each child at Child Scholars. They are not just beneficiaries of our programs; they are the reason we exist. Your incredible generosity has facilitated every classroom built, meal provided, school supply delivered, and every opportunity created hinges on a clear belief: every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream without restrictions.
Hundreds of children across Veritas Academy, REACH: A Philippine Project, Ngala School for the Deaf, and the Be the Link Project continue to experience a world that tells them their circumstances do not define their future.
This month, as we celebrate children around the world, we are celebrating every child whose life you continue to transform.
Learning Beyond The Classroom
One of the greatest gifts we can give a child is the chance to experience the world beyond the pages of a textbook.
Last month, our pupils at Veritas Academy enjoyed a memorable Children’s Day excursion to a local farm, where learning came alive in the most exciting ways. For many of them, it was their very first excursion.
They watched skilled palm wine tappers carefully collect fresh palm wine from towering trees, observed the remarkable craftsmanship behind traditional basket weaving, and discovered fascinating facts about birds, their habitats, and how they lay their eggs.
Some smiles refused to disappear, endless questions, loud laughter, and wide-eyed expressions of amazement at every stop. You could almost see curiosity growing in real time.
As the children made their way home, their voices filled the quiet streets with a singular request: “When are we going on another excursion?”
Their excitement reassured us that education is never confined to four walls. Oftentimes, the most unforgettable lessons happen when children are free to explore, observe, and wonder.

Protecting The Place They Call School
As much as June has been filled with joyful memories, it also brought an urgent challenge we could not ignore.
Following weeks of persistent rainfall, the faculty of Veritas Academy alerted us to the rapidly deteriorating condition of the school’s perimeter fence.
Water remains in the school compound because there is currently no proper drainage to channel floodwater into nearby gutters. As the ground became increasingly saturated, sections of the fence began to weaken, threatening the safety of everyone within the school.
After inspecting the site, the consulting mason delivered a sobering warning: without prompt intervention, parts of the fence could collapse within days. There was no time to wait.
A mason was immediately commissioned to begin emergency repairs, and thousands of US dollars have already been invested to stabilize the compound and prevent further damage. So far, tons of sharp sand and granite have been brought in to fill the flooded areas, while blocks and cement have been used to reinforce and repair sections of the fence weakened by the relentless rains..
While we are grateful that swift action prevented what could have become a much more serious situation, the work is not yet complete. Additional repairs are still required to ensure the compound remains safe, secure, and resilient throughout the remainder of the rainy season.
For us, this is about far more than bricks, blocks, and drainage; it is about protecting the children who learn, play, laugh, and grow within those walls every single day.
The same children whose faces lit up during their Children’s Day excursion deserve to return each morning to a school environment that is safe, secure, and ready for them to continue learning.
And because of your generosity, we are one step closer to making that possible.
Every Child Still Needs Someone To Say “Yes”
Across every Child Scholars initiative, the needs may look different, but the mission remains the same.
In the Philippines, students supported through the REACH Project continue to pursue higher education, but many still require sustained sponsorship to remain in school until graduation. A single interruption in funding can place years of hard work and dreams at risk.
At the Ngala School for the Deaf, children continue learning despite enormous barriers. Yet they still need access to educational resources, specialized learning materials, and consistent support that enables them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Through the Be the Link Project, vulnerable children will continue receiving educational assistance that keeps them in school. But many more children are still waiting for someone willing to become the link between their present circumstances and a brighter future.
Different communities, with different needs, but one shared dream. And that dream continues because of people like you.
As we celebrate children this month, we implore you to do more than continue supporting this mission. Help us introduce Child Scholars to someone else who believes every child deserves a fair chance.
