Dear Child Scholars Donor,
If we took a breather long enough to see the world through a child’s eyes, we would discover something beautiful; wonder, vulnerability, possibility. On May 27, Nigeria celebrated Children’s Day, but for Child Scholars, children are not just a date on a calendar or a box to tick. They are our pulse. Our reason. The very heart of our mission.
We do not only serve children; we believe in them. And through your goodness, we get to show up time and again with school books, tuition fees, laptops, hospital machines, and above all, hope.
This month, we want to let you in on some peaceful miracles your kind gestures have helped make possible.
Across the seas in the Philippines, your generosity at REACH: A Philippine Project continues to uplift students like Mark Janola, who has received steady support with his living expenses since January; $146 to start the year, followed by $133 in February. Another student, Georex Rosal, was struggling to keep up with his computer programming coursework because he had no laptop of his own. You changed that. With $811, we provided him with a laptop, and with it, a renewed sense of confidence and independence. And for all other students in the program? Their tuition is covered till the end of the 2024 – 2025 school year as reported by our amazing director; Kailana Burden.
Closer to home, students at Veritas Academy continue to grow academically and spiritually; in an environment that teaches them both arithmetic and grace. They are excelling and growing in number thanks to the daily dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

In Kenya, Ngala School for the Deaf remains a haven for students who often live in silence; but not invisibility. We are working to ensure no child is left behind. Through our scholarship drive, each child is aided with hearing impairments to receive quality education in an environment that affirms their worth and potential. We owe these possibilities to your ongoing support, and they have in no small measure helped turn barriers into bridges.
And then there’s our boldest experiment yet; a curriculum designed for reach, relevance, and resilience. Dr. Eddie Brown has developed an asynchronous high school chemistry curriculum that contains a web-based interactive chemistry book along with auto-graded assignments that offer immediate, real-time feedback on submitted work. They include a flash card, homework and lab-reporting components that have been used for 20 years by high school and college students. In 2024-2025, virtual labs and at-home labs were used at the college level. The entire curriculum was used in a 1st semester college chemistry course this May.
This month also brought a milestone for healthcare. Two essential machines: an Ultrasound and an ECG have been purchased for Nidus Aquilae Hospital, made possible because you cared. Diagnostics, once delayed or unavailable, can now happen on time. Because a child’s life doesn’t wait.
So, as a nation clapped for children this month, we smiled knowing that you are not just clapping; you are building, giving, and loving them in the most substantial ways.
Thank you for seeing the world through their eyes with us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Morenike Adams
