Dear Child Scholars Donor,
Sometimes impact is measured in numbers. Other times, it is in the faces, stories, and sighs of relief from people who thought help was out of reach. This month, at Nidus Aquilae Hospital, we were reminded of both.
On August 9, 2025, our team hosted a medical outreach designed for those who rarely get access to affordable healthcare services, let alone quality hospitals. By the close of that day, the hope of numerous people, from the young to the aged, was renewed! Some came for a simple check-up, others for lifesaving interventions.
Outreach Snapshot
- Total patients served: 86 (ranging from 1 year old to 83 years old)
- Follow-up care: 3 patients scheduled for discounted specialist tests; 16 malaria-positive patients scheduled for free follow-up consultations with a 30% discount on further tests.
- Support provided: Free and discounted consultations, malaria kits, medication, blood pressure checks, and vital screenings.
What stood out most was not just the diagnoses, but the reassurance: you are seen, you are cared for, you matter.
What It Took To Make This Possible
It cost N580,000 ($376) to deliver this outreach: every Naira stretching toward health and dignity. Here is how your support translated into impact:
- Medical supplies & medicines (malaria kits, medication, gloves, strips, etc.): N227,000
- Equipment (BP monitors, test kits): N94,000
- Logistics (transport, canopies, chairs, tables): N63,500
- Awareness (flyers & banners): N35,500
- Refreshments & water: N42,500
- Ambulance fuel and staff support: N47,500
- Facilities (toilets): N70,000
Total: N580,000 ($376)
True to our promise to be a lifeline for those who cannot afford essential healthcare, this outreach provided much-needed interventions, lifesaving treatments, and discounted services to underserved populations in our host community. The 86 families left with more than just treatment; they left with hope.
But we are not stopping here. If August was impactful, September will be bigger, bolder, and even more ground-breaking. Plans are already in progress to reach more families and provide greater access to critical care.
Meanwhile, our schools; Ngala School for the Deaf, the Philippines Project, Veritas Academy, and our newest partnership with the Voice Over Academy, are gearing up for the next academic year. Each one stands ready to welcome eager learners, ensuring education remains at the heart of everything we do.
We remain committed to ensuring that every child has access not only to quality education but also to creative and vocational pathways that will prepare them for a brighter future.
Ten years in, Child Scholars continue to embody one truth: when we show up; whether with books, classrooms, or medical kits, we plant seeds of change that last a lifetime.
Thank you for keeping our purpose alive through subsidized healthcare, learning, and the promise of even greater impact ahead.
Together, we are;
Healing communities, changing lives!
Warm regards,
