THESE ARE WHAT WE WE ARE DOING

Four Aspects of our Mission

Education

Healthcare

Family Support

Rehabilitation

International K12 education

One of Child Scholars missions is to establish learning centers in many nations of the world. In Nigeria, we are in the process of completing a school house - Veritas Scholars Academy. We hope to have enough capacity for 500 children at this school. In Kenya, we are partnering with Ngala school for the Deaf to provide education to these disenfranchised kids. We are working to establish partnerships in other countries including those in South America and Southeast Asia.

In 2020 during the pandemic we doubled our efforts providing nutritious food to many families in Ikorodu especially during the lockdowns.

Higher education scholarships

Child Scholars has funded many students in universities in Africa, the US, and UK to propel many to unleash their God given potentials.

Vocational Skills Training

Partnerships with Vocational centers to provide a pathway for young adults to provide for themselves and their families. Child Scholars has built partnerships with several vocational centers:
Grace Springs Vocational center
  • Teaching kids and young adults diverse vocational skills.
Voice Over Academy
  • Helping kids and young adults develop and harness the power and the value of their voice.

Dr. Emmanuel Okenye founded Child Scholars while in medical school, establishing a strong tradition of incorporating medical missions into our international initiatives from the very beginning.

Our overarching goal is to enhance upstream healthcare by tackling the root causes of disease. We prioritize primary disease prevention at the community level—both domestically in the United States through our partnership with Thundering Water, a wellness-focused organization based in Roseburg, Oregon, and internationally via our dedicated mission trips.

This year, we have deepened our collaboration with Nidus Aquilae Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, by providing critical funding and resources, including:

  • Medications
  • Laboratory equipment
  • Fiber optic internet installation
  • An electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Solar panel generators (currently being installed this month to ensure reliable power supply)

We have also supported a range of impactful upgrades and initiatives at Nidus Aquilae, such as:

  • Solar power systems
  • Fiber optic internet
  • Air conditioning units
  • Laptops for staff
  • Laboratory equipment and machines
  • Pharmaceutical space renovations and medication procurement
  • Hiring of an Associate Medical Director, Dr. Frank Chiwuzoh

In November 2025, we fully funded ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) training for the entire medical staff. Additionally, we successfully hosted a medical mission project in September 2025.

Looking ahead, we are committed to acquiring additional equipment in the coming months to support comprehensive wellness visits and further strengthen preventive care services at the hospital.

Through these efforts, Child Scholars continues to advance sustainable, community-driven healthcare that empowers individuals and breaks cycles of preventable illness.

Strengthening families through economic stability programs, holistic community services, and initiatives that foster resilience and self-sufficiency.

Offering safe spaces and comprehensive care for victims of abuse, supporting their recovery and empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
