Dear Child Scholars Donor
We welcome you to a special edition of the Child Scholars newsletter, where we honor the incredible individuals who stand at the very heart of education; our teachers. In commemoration of World Teachers’ Day, which took place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, we celebrate their passion, dedication, and the lasting impact they have on the lives of children everywhere.
This month, we take a closer look at the crucial role teachers play in shaping the future, the challenges they face, and the hope they bring to our students every day.
Veritas School Teachers Take Center Stage: Their Journey, Their Impact
At Child Scholars, we are beyond blessed to have a group of teachers who pour their hearts into shaping the minds of our future generation. To honor them, we sat down with a few of our teachers to hear their stories: what brought them into teaching, the challenges they have overcome, and the moments that have made it all worthwhile. Here’s a glimpse into their daily life:
“Nothing brings me greater happiness than seeing my students enthusiastic about their learning journey.” – Mr. Segun Adebayo, Grade 2.
My deepest hope is for every child to have access to innumerable resources that will empower them to achieve greatness in life.” – Ms. Amarachi Williams, Grade 5.
“I aspire to build stronger connections with my pupils’ parents, as I believe we share the profound responsibility of guiding and nurturing these children.” – Ms. Olubukola Omole, Preschool / Preschool.
We could not resist the chance this global celebration presented us to feature accounts from one of the amazing teachers about her journey, challenges, and rewarding moments:
Thank You Notes from Students
Our students wanted to express their gratitude in their own words, and their heartfelt messages remind us of the special bond between teachers and students:
“Thank you, Mrs. Kemi, for helping me believe in myself.” – Josephine Kalu, Grade 5
“I used to find math so hard, but Mrs. Sofunwa made it fun and easy to understand. Thank you!” – Yasir Adebayo, Grade 4.
These simple notes remind us that the impact of a great teacher lasts a lifetime. We recognize the extraordinary role our teachers play in grooming all-round individuals. And we are committed to supporting them with the tools and training they need to continue making a difference.
Our Teachers’ Wish List for the Future of Education
What do our teachers envision for the future of education? When we asked, the answers were both inspiring and thought-provoking:
“Smaller class sizes enable us to give each child the personalized attention they deserve.”
“More access to digital learning tools makes education more interactive and engaging.”
“Greater recognition of the social and emotional support teachers provide, not just academic instruction.”
By supporting Child Scholars, you are helping make some of these dreams a reality for teachers and students alike.
Interactive Activity for Kids: Draw Your Favorite Teacher!
We encouraged students to celebrate their teachers by drawing pictures of them! It’s a fun and creative way for children to express their appreciation while showing the special bond between teachers and students. Stay tuned for some of the adorable submissions we’ll be showcasing on our social media platforms!
